| a) |
There shall be a zeroth semester for all the students opting for any type of post graduate degree except M.Engg, M.Sc (Physical Sciences) and M.Sc. Information Technology at PIEAS. |
| b) |
All the fellows of PIEAS are required to attend the zeroth semester if offered for any post-graduate level program at PIEAS, whereas others are strongly advised to attend the zeroth semester. |
| c) |
The fellows selected for a post-graduate degree program at PIEAS who have secured their last graduate degree from PIEAS can be exempted from the zeroth semester if recommended by the respective Head of the Department. |
| d) |
The zeroth semester shall be of 8 weeks duration (1 week orientation, 6 weeks lecturing and 1 week exams). It shall contain courses as specified by the respective post-graduate programs. None of these courses shall have any credit toward the final degree. |
| e) |
All fellows of the post-graduate programs where zeroth semester is offered, are required to pass the zeroth semester. |
| f) |
The fellows failing to qualify the zeroth semester shall seize to be the fellows of PIEAS. However they may continue their studies at PIEAS in the same degree program as self financed students if they wish. |
| g) |
The minimum pass marks for each course in the zeroth semester shall be 40%. The fellows of post-graduate programs securing an over all 55% in the zeroth semester shall be declared pass and would be eligible for the formal registration. |
| h) |
Fellows of post-graduate programs failing to qualify the zeroth semester may apply for any other or same post-graduate program in any department of PIEAS in future. |
